Description

The NU-X MLD Bass Preamp & DI is a signature pedal developed in collaboration with American bassist Melvin Lee Davis — music director for Chaka Khan and session player for Lee Ritenour, Bryan Ferry, Patti Austin, The Pointer Sisters, and Gladys Knight & the Pips. Designed from real-world professional experience, it covers preamp, overdrive, cabinet simulation, DI output, and noise reduction in a single unit.

3-Band EQ with Middle Frequency Selector
Bass: ±12dB @ 40Hz | Middle: ±17dB @ 160Hz–1000Hz (sweepable) | Treble: ±12dB @ 8kHz. Wide frequency range designed to suit 4, 5, 6, and 7-string basses.

Drive & Blend
Drive sets the saturation level of the overdriven signal. Blend mixes between clean (unity gain) and driven signal for parallel overdrive.

Volume
Controls overall output level and DI output volume.

DI Output (XLR)
Balanced mic-level XLR output, switchable pre or post effects. Ground Lift (GND/LFT) toggle eliminates ground loop noise — does not affect the 1/4" output.

IR Cabinet Simulation
Independently switchable IR loader for both the XLR DI and 1/4" outputs. Load custom IRs via USB for personalised cabinet emulation.

Additional I/O
1/4" instrument input, 1/4" through and main outputs, 1/8" headphone output, 1/8" aux input, Micro-B USB for firmware updates, software control, IR loading, and audio streaming.

Requires 9V DC, negative tip (not included).
