Description
The Zona Isca Custom "Blackguard & Blonde" is a meticulously crafted electric guitar, handmade in Devon with a unique blend of traditional tonewoods and modern design elements. Featuring a cherry body with an oak top, it sports a blonde nitrocellulose finish on the front, contrasted by a light satin nitro cherry back for a beautifully organic two-tone look. The cherry hybrid D/C-carve neck and walnut fretboard with stainless steel frets offer a smooth, fast-playing experience. Wayne at Zona has just designed a new headstock shape. This is one of the first of his new models offered for sale! We find it striking and very fitting for the brand!
Hardware includes Gotoh SD90 vintage tuners, roller string guides, a bone nut, and a distinctive celluloid pickguard, complemented by brushed aluminium composite pickup surrounds and control plate. The guitar is equipped with a polished aluminium Bifrost top-mounted bridge for enhanced sustain and rock-solid intonation.
Loaded with Zona 35 pickups in both neck and bridge positions, this guitar delivers a punchy, articulate voice. The control setup includes 1 volume, 1 tone (250k) with an Orange Drop capacitor, a 3-way Oak Grigsby switch, and Zona’s custom switching circuit with 2 micro switches for expanded tonal versatility. Finished with vintage NOS stereo-style knobs, a vintage loom, Switchcraft socket, and light ageing without relicing, the Isca is a refined, responsive instrument with character to match its looks.
